Turks and Caicos Islands Post Cabinet Meeting Statement – July 2022
His Excellency the Governor chaired the 23rd meeting of Cabinet on Wednesday 20 July 2022 at the Premier’s Office on Providenciales. All Members were present with the exception of Hon. Robinson.
At this meeting Cabinet:
- Noted contract award notifications for the following:1. PN 005592, SSP, Front Street Grand Turk road resurfacing2. PN 005699, SSP, Roadworks promenade3. PN 005624, TR 21/45, Prison works – upgrade of existing buildings
- Approved to amend the Gaming Machines Ordinance to reduce the current tax rate of 35% to 30% for a certain category of licence.
- Approved Interim measures to improve service delivery through the Migrant Health Evaluation Programme to be effective as of 1 August 2022.
- Approved the Road Traffic (Amendments) Bill 2022 – issuance of Temporary Licence Plates. The matter will now be considered by the House of Assembly.
- Approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the Turks and Caicos Islands Government and the UK Government’s Government Digital Service toward reviewing processes and developing a strategy to improve transparency and efficiency in the public service.
- Approved the legislative agenda for the remaining 2022/2023 financial year.
